6th Grade Students: Daerik & Gabriel

Our Sixth Grade went to the Christa Mcauliffe space center as a field trip. The trip was awesome. There were two parts. One part was the space simulation. We got into ships for the simulation. There were three ships. The USS Magellan, the USS Odyssey, and the USS Phoenix. We had some challenges that we needed to do so that we could accomplish our mission. One of the challenges was that we had to convince an alien species called the Enooks to save themselves from dangerous conditions caused by something in the Spitzer Nebula.

We miss December.  It was fun having Santa came to visit all the preschool students. He read us a story and sang some songs with us! We also got to tell him what we wanted for Christmas.

MEXICOIn November, we had the awesome chance to have Mrs. Cabrera come visit our 3rd grade classes to share a little bit about where she is from, Mexico. Gabriela Cabrera, her daughter, is in Ms. Thomas's class and she was so excited to have her mom come tell us about her country. We also appreciated having her daughter as well as Mrs. Ramirez, our ESL teacher, come help translate for Mrs. Cabrera. Nolan Banks wanted to share a little bit about what he learned. He says, "We practically visited Mexico! And we learned that they make yummy food like: tamales, churros, and tacos.

Experiencing Denmark in Third Grade

We had a wonderful presentation on Denmark. Some things we learned are that 3 Denmarks could fit inside Utah. Also there are 3 main islands next to the peninsula that make up the country. Denmark has a King and Queen. Hans Christian Anderson  who wrote the Ugly Duckling, Thumbalina, Little mermaid and the Little Match Girl came from Denmark. Legos were invented there and it was voted the Happiest Country in the World!  Thank you to Judy Kirkland for sharing your experiences with the third graders.
