This year's 6th graders in Mrs. Brown’s class are doing plays about ancient Egypt. There are three plays: Isis and Osiris, Helen of Egypt, and The Tomb Thief. Each play has a Director and around 9 cast members.

Isis and Osiris is about the story of Isis and Osiris. Osiris goes to a dinner party and goes missing. Isis is worried for her husband so she goes disguised all over Egypt looking for him. This story has excitement, mystery, and even a happy ending.

Helen of Egypt is about a married woman (Helen) whose slave is in love with her. So when Helen’s husband is gone, the slave, Paris, kidnaps her.  She finds out he is actually a Prince! Long story short Helen and her husband live happily ever after.

The Tomb Thief is about a man who is building a pyramid for the Pharaoh. The pharaoh doesn't know but the builder built a secret passage so that his sons could steal the money and treasure of the Pharaoh.

All of the students have been working very hard on these plays. Everyone is working on learning their lines, training their voices to sound like their character, and running through scenes.

This is a good way for kids  to learn and get to know there peers better. I have seen many friendships between students created or older friendships grow stronger.
