This year at Meadow Brook we have the wonderful opportunity to participate in a program called CMI or Comprehensive Mathematics Instruction. The overall objective of CMI is to provide students with the skills they need to be successful in math. Students learn how to communicate and share their mathematical ideas with others. They also learn how to reason mathematically and ask questions.

This also provides teachers with the opportunity to participate in lesson studies. We get to plan lessons as a team and then watch as one of the teachers on the team teaches the lesson. We then get to debrief how the lesson went and consider if it met the objectives we had planned around. We then get to adjust and make changes. After making changes to enhance the lesson another teacher on the team teaches the lesson. This provides wonderful opportunities for growth for both teachers and students.
