Argumentative Writing in Action

After writing argumentative essays on whether or not America should keep or get rid of the penny, Mrs. Gregory's class used their arguments to write scripts for a courtroom scene to bring their writing to life.  The students did a great job gathering evidence to support their arguments.  Each time the the courtroom scene was performed, the jury voted to keep the penny!

Congratulations to all of our amazing second graders that earned the Student of the Month Award for April.  They are: Zack, Tony, Alyssa, Ava, Oliver, Victoria, Gage, Kaylee, Elena, Hennessy, and Tessa.

Habit 8: Find Your Voice

Meadow Brook's final habit for the year will be Habit 8: Find Your Voice.  From now to the end of the year, students will focus on being able and willing to discover their strengths and talents.  Finding your voice means that you are patient with yourself.  It takes time and a lot of positive self-talk to discover your own greatness.  As we find our voice, we take the opportunity to share our talents and gifts with the world.  Through our example, we lead and inspire others to do the same.  If you would like to encourage Habit 8 at home you can do the following activities:  host a family ta

We have been learning about subtraction in kindergarten. We used nursery rhymes and Cookie Crisp cereal to practice writing and solving subtraction equations.

What an event!  We loaded the whole school onto the bleachers to take a picture together.  It was great to see all of our Mustangs in one place!
