2018 was Mrs. Brown's 5th year running the Boston Marathon.  This year was unique because she was chosen as one of 17 teachers from across the nation to be a part of the Hyland's team at Boston.  Each teacher has a unique story and has had a positive impact on students.  While in Boston they were treated to deluxe accommodations, team meals, Sox tickets and VIP treatment on race day.  They were able to meet Dave McGillivray, the Boston Marathon race director, which Mrs. Brown said was amazing.  Marathon Monday brought very unique and challenging weather conditions.  They had torrential rain, high winds and cold temps the entire race. Mrs. Brown says,  "It was by far the hardest conditions I have ever raced in.  I was unsure how my body would handle the tough weather.  I was able to persevere and finish in 3:14."  We are so proud of Mrs. Brown.  Thanks for representing our school and our district!  You are amazing!!

Mustangs, don't forget that our marathon is coming up in a couple of weeks on May 12.  If you haven't signed up, there is still time to participate.  The link to register is https://www.raceentry.com/races/payson-canyon-half-5k-and-kids-marathon-/2018/register.
