5th Grade Book Tasting

Last Friday we did a fun activity called a book tasting. A book tasting is something where you read a little bit of a book to "taste" it, and see if you would want to read it. We decorated the class like it was a restaurant, we put our books on plates and had a "menu" to rate the books. We switched tables to "taste" every different genre. We had a bell ring when we had to change tables. It also rang when we were to rate the books. Some of the genres included: fantasy, historical fiction, poems, realistic fiction, and many more. This is how we did our first book tasting.
