This week in Library, we’re getting ready for Christmas break by finding great books to check out!

We love the Christmas season! This month we have been reading LOTS of Christmas books and stories during our speech and language groups. For the activity this week, we have been using the story "If you Take a Mouse to the Movies" while targeting various WH- questions! After we read the book, each student gets to take a turn tossing the beanbag onto the type of WH- question they'd like to answer! The students have really enjoyed incorporating learning with fun Christmas-centered activities! 

In 5th grade, we learned about how settlers in Jamestown had a glassmaking industry. They used the area's natural resources like wood and sand to create glass products including bottles and windows. After that, the 5th graders used tissue paper and construction paper to make their own art project inspired by stained glass! 

This month, third graders have been working on convincing Santa to hire them as an elf. They have worked hard to figure out the reasons why they would be a good elf and tell those to Santa by using their best handwriting, spelling, punctuation, and convincing words. They did such an amazing job! We will have to see if they were able to convince Santa!
