Fourth Grade Can Keep Water Clean

Submitted by lena.bird on

Last week, Meadow Brook 4th Graders got a visit from the Utah County
Stormwater program. We've been learning about the water cycle in
science, and this presentation fit right in with what we're learning.

We know that water evaporates when it is heated by the sun, then
attaches to dust particles and forms clouds. The water condenses back
into a liquid and falls to earth as precipitation. This water collects
in earth's lakes, rivers, oceans, and streams.

A Party: Because of Winn Dixie

Submitted by lena.bird on

Mrs. Crowther's 4th grade class finished reading the book Because of Winn-Dixie.  To celebrate, students created a model to represent one of the characters in the book.  They made a list of 10 things they knew about that character.  We also had a pink themed dog party, just like the main character in the book had.  We had a great time, and the student's projects turned out awesome!

Kindergarten Field Day Fun

Submitted by lena.bird on

Kindergarten had a fun Field Day today! Lots of games, fun, and food!  We did 6 stations-  bubbles, parachute games, hula hoop relays, tag games, sidewalk chalk, and giant marbles.  A huge thank you to all the parents who came to make this day possible, and to Pizza Factory for getting us a great deal on pizza and breadsticks for lunch.

Meadow Brook Students are Creating Great Habits

Submitted by lena.bird on

This school year Meadow Brook students will participate in a school wide positive behavior program.  Each month the school will focus on a Habit from the 7 Habits of Happy Kids.  Last week students had their first lesson.  It focused on Habit 1: Be Proactive.  The students learned that a proactive person is someone who is responsible and takes initiative.  They do what is right, even when no one is looking.
