Fun with Morse Code and Frequency

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on
Our class has been treated to learn about Morse Code and Frequency from the Johnson's.  The students have learned how to say and sign their names in Morse Code.  They even got to make their own Morse Code devices.  We had a great time playing Hangman as a way to learn the Morse Code alphabet.  The students would guess letters not by saying them, but by signing them on their Morse Code devices.  It was so neat!  We are so grateful to the Johnson family for taking the time to teach our class something new!

Utah Land Regions

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

4th graders studied the three land regions of Utah this week. Learning became hands-on as the students created the Great Basin, Rocky Mountain, and Colorado Plateau land regions and land forms using salt dough. We discovered that Utah county is a point where all three regions overlap, creating a place with diverse surroundings. 4th graders are discovering that Utah is a great place to live!
