Parents & Students
Meadow Brook Elementary has a School Community Council (SCC) that meets monthly to discuss school-related issues and determine how to best spend Trustland Funds. The council comprises school employees (elected), parents (elected), and the principal. If you have questions, issues, or concerns you would like discussed or are interested in being involved in, please get in touch with a member of our SCC or call Heather Balli at the school (801-489-2897).
2024-2025 Meeting Schedule
Third Wednesday of each month from 11:15-12:15 in MB's Conference Room.
We are always looking for parents to join our community council to advise and provide insight for our school. Each year, our council consists of 5 parent members and 3 staff members, all serving two-year terms. If necessary, elections will be held. You are also welcome to attend any of our School Community Council meetings, whether or not you are a member.
2024-2025 Trustlands & TSSA Annual Allocation
Each year, the state gives Trustland and TSSA funds to schools based on enrollment —this funding is separate from normal school funding. Trustland funding is to be spent on the school's greatest academic need. As a School Community Council last year, the council felt Meadow Brook’s greatest academic needs were in reading and math. Here is a breakdown of how Trustland Funds and TSSA funds are allocated to be spent for this 2024-2025 school year.
2023-2024 Trustlands & TSSA Annual Allocation
During the 2023-2024 school year, 60% of Trustland funds were used to hire five reading aides and three math technicians to enrich and reteach students in reading and math. The rest of the funds were used to build Meadow Brook’s take-home and leveled libraries, purchase technology and math professional development books, and hire substitutes for collaboration days—days in which teacher teams collaboratively meet to enhance instruction. If you would like an in-depth look at how these funds were spent, please see the office. Through the efforts of our teachers and reading aides, 80% of MB students were reading on grade level or made at least one year of growth.
