Christmas in the Library

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

Holidays are so fun in the library! In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we enjoyed learning about two famous New York City traditions: the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. We first read Balloons Over Broadway, about the puppeteer who invented the giant balloons in the Macy's parade. We also watched a short compilation video of last year's balloons, and kids loved seeing their favorite characters march across the screen.

Pandora's Socks

6th grade has been learning all about Greek History and all the Greek Gods and Goddesses. We even talked about different myths that came from the Greeks, including Pandora’s Box. The 6th grade classes put on a play called “Pandora’s Socks”. All the kids did so great and had so much fun!

Utah Symphony's Virtual Performance

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

In fourth grade, students have the opportunity of watching the Utah Symphony perform. This year looked a little different because we watched the performance virtually, but students were still able to enjoy the beautiful music. After the performance we had the opportunity to video chat with one of the members of the Utah symphony. This was a new and fun experience! Students were able to ask this musician any questions they had. They had so many great questions and learned a lot!
