2nd grade enjoyed a day of snow outside and snow inside! We learned how to make “snow” and used it to form and create shapes that we have learned throughout the school year. We have learned about triangles, quadrilaterals, hexagons, and pentagons. Recipe for “snow”- 3 cups baking soda- 1/2 cup conditioner Mix and play! 

In first grade, we packed up our suitcases and passports and flew away to learn about different Christmas traditions and cultures of other countries!On Christmas Eve night in the Philippines, everybody puts a star on their porch that lights up. -CharlieIn Sweden, the youngest daughter in the family wears a crown and is in a parade. - ShilohIn France, they put out their shoes and Pere Noel (Father Christmas) puts candy in their shoes. -EmmaThey hang stockings on the fireplace or on their beds in England. -LuciaIn Mexico, they use poinsettias for decoration.

This week in Mrs. Blair’s music class we have been working on Rhythm and Bells. We learned a cup game to the tune of “Sleigh Ride” and we learned various Christmas songs on the chromatic bells. So Fun! We love Christmas time in Music Specialties.
