The Cat in the Hat

The Cat in the hat knows a lot about that, and Meadow Brook 2nd graders know a lot about Dr. Seuss. 2nd graders, were challenged to put their best informational writing skills to use to write a paper about Dr. Seuss. Together we found some interesting things like, Dr. Seuss’ first book was turned down 27 times, or his mom is the one that inspired him to start rhyming.

Character Building in 4th Grade

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

Mrs. Anderson's class was lucky enough to receive 18 character education books through donations on a Donor's Choose project. Teaching children how to deal with their ever changing emotions can be a difficult task, and these character ed books allow them to connect to book characters to change how they behave in hard situations.  A favorite so far is Recess Queen by Alexis O'Neill. Recess Queen talks about including others and not being a bully on the playground.
