Culture Day in Third Grade

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on
MEXICOIn November, we had the awesome chance to have Mrs. Cabrera come visit our 3rd grade classes to share a little bit about where she is from, Mexico. Gabriela Cabrera, her daughter, is in Ms. Thomas's class and she was so excited to have her mom come tell us about her country. We also appreciated having her daughter as well as Mrs. Ramirez, our ESL teacher, come help translate for Mrs. Cabrera. Nolan Banks wanted to share a little bit about what he learned. He says, "We practically visited Mexico! And we learned that they make yummy food like: tamales, churros, and tacos.

Fossils in Fourth Grade

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on
We just got done learning about fossils in Mrs. Christensen's class. We made 3 types of fossils; impression, mineral replacement and ember fossils.  On the last day we worked together to make our very own dinosaurs!

Experiencing Denmark in Third Grade

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

We had a wonderful presentation on Denmark. Some things we learned are that 3 Denmarks could fit inside Utah. Also there are 3 main islands next to the peninsula that make up the country. Denmark has a King and Queen. Hans Christian Anderson  who wrote the Ugly Duckling, Thumbalina, Little mermaid and the Little Match Girl came from Denmark. Legos were invented there and it was voted the Happiest Country in the World!  Thank you to Judy Kirkland for sharing your experiences with the third graders.
