Exploring Patterns
First grade has been busy exploring predictable patterns of the sun, moon, and stars in the sky. Here they were learning how shadows are made and how they change throughout the day.

In music we did the story of The Little Old Lady Who Wasn't Afraid of Anything. The kids played different instruments for the different articles of clothing. Mighty Mustang students have some great acting skills!
PE has been so much fun this school year. We’ve played so many fun games, worked on skills and fitness. The kids are always excited to come to class and find out what the next game/activity is going to be and they always play and work so hard. It’s always so rewarding to see them laugh and enjoy a game while getting exercise. This week we’ve been enjoying glow in the dark bowling. It’s been so fun to learn a new skill and new sport while have the added bonus of glow in the dark fun.

This week during library time, we enjoyed reading Creepy Carrots, by Aaron Reynolds. Then we had fun pretending to be creepy carrots sneaking up on Jasper Rabbit while playing red-light-green-light.
Our class had some time to make a vision board for the States and Capitals of the Northeast area of the United States. We got to pick a State with our partners and had to present to the class. We liked hearing unique things about the States. We got to learn about and see other people’s States. We hope people had fun making these presentations.
We were happy that people were brave enough to present to the class. We had fun and had a good time. It was super fun to learn about the other group's States!
