In Ms. Craner's First Grade class we are learning about proper nouns. The students enjoyed learning to say "proper noun" in a 'proper' way. It is very fun to hear them all say it in a high and unique voice. After reviewing the acronym "CHIPS" (calendar, holidays, I, people, places, pets, and sentence starters), we headed to the hall to create a graffiti wall of proper nouns. The students wrote or drew pictures of proper nouns under the different categories of restaurant, store, people/friends, holidays, calendar, and pets. They really enjoyed being able to use sharpies and share the wall with friends!
