Sharpie Art

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on
We LOVE art! For the past few weeks we have been working on our portfolios that will hold all of our writing and art for the year. We have loved learning how to do “sharpie art”, on them, and can’t wait to fill our folders with our amazing work!  Lincoln Murphy in our class said, “I had so much fun learning how to do it! I enjoyed picking out my favorite colors, being creative to decide on different designs for the triangles, and hiding my initials in the art. I was so excited to teach my mom how to do it when I got home from school!

Special Visitors

Mrs. Glenn’s class has some special visitors for the next few weeks!  A student in our class and their family taught us about the life cycle of a Monarch Butterfly and even brought in some caterpillars for us!  We get to watch as the caterpillars turn into butterflies and we look forward to getting to release them after they transform!

Impact Geography has on Exploration

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

In Mrs. McClain's class, we have been learning about the 5 themes of geography and the impact geography has on exploration. Here, the students are sorting pictures of all kinds of foods to see if they originated in the "Old World" or the "New World." They were quite surprised to find out that turkey, popcorn, and and sunflowers are the only foods that originated in North America. The Columbian Exchange had quite an impact on exploration!
