Quigley Down Under Visits Mrs. Peterson’s Class

Submitted by lena.bird on

Mrs. Peterson’s 2nd grade class earned their class reward to meet Mrs Peterson’s dog Quigley! They learned what responsibilities you have when you own a dog, how to approach a dog, and Quigley even showed them a few tricks! Quigley is a pure German Shepherd, and believe it or not, he’s only 1 1/2 years old! He weighs about 80-85 pounds and loves to play with all his new friends in the class!! Oh and he definitely loves to take pictures!

Special Musical Guest

Submitted by lena.bird on

After reading Violet’s music from Journeys, the 2nd graders enjoyed a special guest visit from Mrs. Peterson’s dad, Mr. Murdoch! Mr. Murdoch shared all about his musical experiences growing up. From junior high to high school, playing at Disneyland, and with the University of Utah marching band! Mr. Murdoch also played songs for the 2nd graders including Amazing Grace, Star Wars (definitely a 2nd grade favorite), and Harry Potter! Thank you Mr. Murdoch for you beautiful music, fun stories, and teaching the 2nd graders to always do their best (and to do their homework)!

Third Grade Happenings

Fun things are happening in 3rd grade!

Bobby Lawrence Karate came to teach a lesson on focus. Each student received a free board breaking lesson.

For fun Friday, 3rd grade enjoyed an engineering challenge with toothpicks and candy corn—Skylar Skouza’s team managed a small pyramid. We enjoyed eating the broken ones! Yummy fun.

Mrs. James Sixth Reptile Party

Submitted by lena.bird on

Last week, Mrs James’s 6th grade class earned a class party.  We voted on a reptile party. Mrs. James’s daughter, Sarah, brought around her big tegu lizard on a leash. He was too heavy for the kids to hold so she just let them pet it. She also brought around a blue-tongued skink. This one was small enough that the kids could hold it. Sarah went around the whole class and let the kids pet it. It was really cool it felt scaly and soft.
