Kindergarten has been working hard reading as much as they can and earning Gold Medals.  Today they celebrated with a pajama day! Kindergarten students also received their School Shirts.  It was so fun to have Miss Balli and Miss Ledingham celebrate their successes and pass out the children’s shirts.  Great work Kindergarteners!

Slimey and Slithery Visitors in 4th Grade

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

The Living Planet Aquarium's Water Van visited Meadow Brook's 4th grade this week! Students were taught about the three different environments in Utah - wetland, desert, and forest. The animal and plant life that is found in these areas is very dependent on the amount of water that is found in that environment. We used our sense of touch, sight, and hearing to identify some of the animals in these environments. Students were able to see a salamander, toad, and even touch a garter and a king snake!

3rd grade Illustrators

After learning about illustrators, we each wrote a 4-panel cartoon of a fairytale. Then we chose to use pastels, watercolor, or crayon to complete our drawings. Just like illustrators do!

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

With the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, second graders were challenged to write how they would change the world. Many topics were discussed by students such as stop bullying, do not litter, be honest, and being kind to all to name a few. All these ideas were brought to life in their writing. The world sure is a brighter place with students like these in it!

100th Day of School

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

We're 100 days smarter! Today in first grade we celebrated learning for 100 days. Students were able to solve tasks and create things using limited resources. Students were also able to think of things they want to accomplish before they are 100 years old. A few things our class put on their individual bucket lists were: Pet a cheetah, ride in an airplane, learn to play the piano, eat 10 burritos, be kind and go on fun trips! It sounds like they have some exciting things on their bucket list!
