This month in music, we learned about beat and rhythm. We used tennis balls to try and keep a steady beat and then we reviewed rhythms by acting as the notes in a 4/4 time signature. 

In the month of November and December we will be introducing our Meadow Brook Olympians, so you can get to know them better.

In our class, we have been playing Kahoot. Kahoot is a quizzing game to help you learn and have fun at the same time. We are using Kahoot to help us learn how to divide faster. Kahoot is helping us to do our work really fast and not to get it wrong. It helps us a lot and I see a lot of people use the way of division when they couldn’t at first. People love Kahoot. In Kahoot you get timed and it is really fun to beat the clock. You get to choose your own answer every time.

Mrs. Wray's class has been busy writing autobiographical poems to go with their fabulous self portraits. They also created Pumpkin Book Reports, where they wrote about their favorite character in a book and created a pumpkin that looked just like them!

Last week second graders learned all about adjectives. They put their new knowledge to use by creating Halloween sense poems. Students described what they see, hear, smell, feel, and taste on Halloween. 

Meadow Brook's October Olympic event focused on improving behavior in specialty classes. Many classes received a gold medal for getting high marks all month long in their specialty classes. Each specialty teacher picked a student from every class that exemplified being hard working, responsible, kind, and honest. Congrats to our Mighty Mustangs for doing such a great job in the Month of October. November's Olympic event is focused on improving lunchroom behavior.

Mrs. Taylor’s class is learning about the states of matter with a snowman experiment!

PE has been so much fun lately that it’s scary! We’ve been working really hard on our Halloween dance for the Halloween parade. The kids are so excited to perform what they’ve learned. We’ve been perfecting the dance while also making sure that we still leave time to play fun games using our imaginations as well as our muscles. We’ve Had a blast being ninja turtles in a fun ninja turtle game, fun Halloween themed yoga and an expanded cornhole type game. Keeping active and always having fun!
