The Night Sky
2nd graders have started learning about the night sky. Today we started learning about the rotation of the moon. Next we will be talking about the phases! The weather forecast shows clear skies for the next week, so head outside tonight and check the moon out!
Our Nation's Symbols
In first grade we are learning about State and National symbols. Students were able to learn why these symbols are important. A couple of our class favorites were The Beehive and the United States Flag.

Reasons for the Seasons
Sixth grade students have been discovering the reasons we have seasons. As part of this discovery, students participated in a lab with four globes set up around the sun and worked to determine which globe represented each season. Students gathered data by reading multimeters, measuring shadows, and analyzing the tilt at each globe. In the end, students were able to correctly identify the season of each globe by collaborating and interpreting their data.
Becoming a Butterfly
In Ms Thomas’s class we are learning all about living and non living things. We had the awesome opportunity for the past month watching a caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly! A big thank you to Mrs. Tew for bringing it in for us to watch! Last week while we were reading we saw it pushing its way out of its chrysalis right before our eyes! We couldn’t wait to see what it would look like. On Wednesday we released it outside into nature. What a fun experience watching this all unfold!!!
