In honor of National School Counselor Week, we wanted to shout out our very own Mrs. Bradley for the amazing work she does at Orchard Hills day in and day out. We are so excited to announce the results of the 5th grade keyboarding contest! One of our very own Orchard Hills students won first prize and $100. Noah Winder is the $100 winner as well as the Golden Keyboard winner for Orchard Hills. Kate Mattinson also won a cash prize for being in the top 15! Mason Roberts, Max Lindsay, Joshua Mitchell, Ty Nielsen and Zac Oberg were also recognized for being excellent keyboarders. Congratulations to all of our winners for their hard work, you are rockstars!
Congratulations to Mrs. McEntire for being awarded the Innovator of the Year for Principals in Nebo School District! Mrs. McEntire implemented a new program this year where we honor our students of the month with a Victory Walk through the halls, the students and teachers clap and cheer for the students of the month, it has quickly become such an exciting tradition. We decided to surprise Mrs. McEntire with a Victory Walk of her own! Thank you for all that you do for the students and staff here at Orchard Hills, we are lucky to have you!

Mrs. McEntire celebrated our Drivers of the Month for December with a fun pizza party and enjoyed quality one-on-one time with each student. While we missed a few, we are incredibly proud of the hard work and positive examples these students set every day. You are all true rockstars!

Wise Wednesday: Unlocking Your Child's Potential - Understanding the IEP Process!
MESSAGE FROM OUR PTA:
As the school year is halfway over, we come to you again as a PTA, reminding you that we need replacements. If we don't find anyone, or have anyone volunteer, there are a lot of fun things that the kids will lose out on.
Things that PTA Board Members Do:
One meeting a month, unless a second is needed (typically only happens for the open house prep and carnival). On average, 5 hours of volunteer hours needed per month. (Some months are more, some are less)
President:
Oversees and conducts all meetings. Creates each months agenda. Leads discussion with the principal and teacher rep at monthly 1 hour meeting. Helps organize and execute activities. Makes phone calls for donations.
Secretary:
Takes minutes at each meeting. Helps organize and execute activities. Assists in any way the group needs. Makes phone calls.
Treasurer:
In charge of all financial paperwork. Holds the checks and does end of year taxes (super easy). Helps make activities happen.
