Meadow Brook 4th graders took a trip that was a real "mapping" success—they visited UVU for GIS Day! It was like embarking on a cartographic adventure. You could say they were 'following the legend' to learn all about Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

4th graders enjoyed learning about different types of maps, how they are created, and what they are used for. A few favorite parts of the day were seeing a drone that the DWR uses to map large areas, seeing and interacting with a digital 3D map, and learning about different professions that use GIS. But the Mars map-making stole the show! They had a blast creating their own map of the Red Planet and discovering where life could be sustained—talk about a field trip that's truly out of this world!
