5th grade Matter

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

The past couple of weeks in 5th grade, we have been studying the properties of matter.  In the last week, we have done several experiments. The most recent experiment is determining how an acid affects a penny. Each day, students have been adding a bit more vinegar to the surface of their penny. They record their observations each day in their science notebooks.  It has been fun to explore the properties of matter together!

Science Artists

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Our class love science so much, it’s bleeding into the art we choose to create on the blacktop! Among the many talents Mr. Mann’s students possess, artistic flare is among the best! We love to draw as we learn, and learning through drawing helps us  understand the world around us in a much deeper way! In our science units, we are constantly drawing models to explain and explore phenomena that occurs in the natural world - and we are becoming artists at the same time!

In computers we learned parts of the computer and how a computer works.  We had a chance to look inside of a real computer and see how everything is connected.
