For Native American Heritage month, we had some dancers and a flute player share their talents and knowledge about their Native American background. One of our own Cherry Creek Crocs and another dancer, Patrick, shared the Men’s Fancy Dance Men's fancy dance which is flashy, colorful and highly energetic. It requires strength and stamina and is usually performed by younger men and boys. The drum can play a medium war beat, a ruffle, crow hop, and a fast beat. One of the other presenters played a tune on the Indian Flute. You can tell by the picture that some of the younger kids loved the performance.

Over the past few weeks, Kindergarten students have been learning about plants. We finished our unit by celebrating Johnny Appleseed. We had fun drawing Johnny Appleseed, tasting different types of apples, and voting for our favorite flavor of apple.

This year, Kindergarten is using a new science platform called Mystery Science. This resource helps us learn more about the world through hands-on lessons and experiments. Over the past few weeks, we have been learning about pushes and pulls and how they help us make every day tasks easier to complete.
