Reading Carnival

Submitted by lena.bird on

On Friday, Meadow Brook was filled with the sounds of excited students all ready to spend their tickets at the carnival.  Not just any carnival- the reading carnival.  Students earn tickets to spend at the carnival by doing their weekly reading.  They can use their tickets on games, activities, ice cream, raffles, parties, and of course- books!  It was a lot of fun!  Keep reading Mustangs- the next carnival will be here before you know it!

Parents,

We want to thank you for coming out for parent-teacher conferences; I know the teachers enjoyed meeting with you.

We want to thank everyone for the generous amount of support given to help students in need at Meadow Brook by participating in our Giving Tree!! We would like to collect these donations by Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

Quigley Down Under Visits Mrs. Peterson’s Class

Submitted by lena.bird on

Mrs. Peterson’s 2nd grade class earned their class reward to meet Mrs Peterson’s dog Quigley! They learned what responsibilities you have when you own a dog, how to approach a dog, and Quigley even showed them a few tricks! Quigley is a pure German Shepherd, and believe it or not, he’s only 1 1/2 years old! He weighs about 80-85 pounds and loves to play with all his new friends in the class!! Oh and he definitely loves to take pictures!

Special Musical Guest

Submitted by lena.bird on

After reading Violet’s music from Journeys, the 2nd graders enjoyed a special guest visit from Mrs. Peterson’s dad, Mr. Murdoch! Mr. Murdoch shared all about his musical experiences growing up. From junior high to high school, playing at Disneyland, and with the University of Utah marching band! Mr. Murdoch also played songs for the 2nd graders including Amazing Grace, Star Wars (definitely a 2nd grade favorite), and Harry Potter! Thank you Mr. Murdoch for you beautiful music, fun stories, and teaching the 2nd graders to always do their best (and to do their homework)!
