Submitted by sarah.ledingham on Thu, 09/05/2019 - 12:09

Mrs. Peterson's first-grade class has been working hard to create a classroom of learning. They have been learning procedures and doing team-building activities.  Knowing things are always better when they work together. They have been having to use those teams to do some STEM activities. Mrs. Peterson's class has learned this year is going to be great because this class knows how to work together and think critically.

For the first week of school Mrs. Clare's 3rd grade class  at Meadow Brook Elementary engaged in the STEM activity "Saving Fred." Students were given paperclips, plastic cups, a gummy worm and a gummy lifesaver. With the group they were put in students had to get the lifesaver gummy under the plastic cup around the gummy worm WITHOUT touching the gummy worm or lifesaver with their hands.
