Kelsey Mortenson, a 6th grade teacher, was awarded the Crystal Apple this week. She is a great teacher, and we are blessed to have her at Meadow Brook Elementary. This is what her teammates said about her:

Kelsey makes us laugh - she is funny and fun to be around!
Kelsey looks out for our team - she makes sure we are all on the same page and that we all have what we need to be successful.
Kelsey is a great leader - she serves in many different leadership roles in our school and district and is such an asset to our local education community.
Kelsey makes sure all her students know that she cares about them and wants them to succeed.
Kelsey is real and genuine. She doesn’t pretend to be something she is not.
Kelsey knows everyone and everyone knows Kelsey. She says it’s because she grew up here, but the more we get to know her, the more we realize that she knows everyone because she makes it a point to make a positive connection with everyone she comes in contact with. You always leave feeling happier after talking to Kelsey.
If we ever have questions or concerns, Kelsey is always willing to answer and help out, no matter how busy she is or what she is working on.
Kelsey tells it how it is =) She is always honest and truthful with what she says.
Kelsey truly cares about her students. She is always willing to do what is best for them.
Kelsey is thoughtful - she is always doing small things like printing a lunch calendar for us or bringing a drink or cookie for us to brighten our days.
