After learning about heat transfer, seasonal change, and the long-term effects of decreasing temperature on plant and animal life, sixth graders at Meadow Brook Elementary were ready to put their knowledge to good use. They boarded space ships at the Christa McAuliffe Space Center and were soon on their way to save the Enooks, an alien race on a distant planet. It took a lot of teamwork, quick thinking, and precise communication, but the students were finally able to complete their mission and return to earth. “This was one of my favorite field trips ever! Before this field trip, I never wanted to learn about space, but now I want to learn all about it,” said Zoie.
