Mrs. Irwin's 5th grade class got to lunch work this week. There were 6 servers, 6 table washers and 2 hall monitors. It was so fun getting the chance to help keep our lunchroom clean. We made it fun by having a few friendly competitions as well.

Mr. Mouth

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Mr. Mouth has been visiting speech a lot recently. Mr. Mouth is a tactile and visual way for speech students to learn where their tongue is supposed to go in their mouths for specific sounds. The students love getting to move his tongue around and match it to their own. Mr. Mouth is a loved visitor in the speech room!

3rd grade Tackles Keyboarding

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Our little 3rd graders are working hard at memorizing the keys on the keyboard! We have been going through lessons each day to get familiar with letter location. Our focus has been on having good keyboarding position, trying to keep our hands on “home row” while typing, and keeping our eyes on the computer monitor. We love keyboarding!!!

The power of Teamwork

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

2nd grade has been working on learning the power of team work! To practice team work, 2nd graders were given the task to stack their shoes to see which group could make the tallest tower. We’ve learned that working together means we try new ideas, listen to everyone, and have fun! We’ve also learned that we all have different strengths and can bring many new ideas to each activity.
