1st grade explodes into science

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

First grade is learning that good scientists observe, record and question to get a better understanding! Like good scientists we created an experiment called Elephant Toothpaste to practice our skills. They were able to observe the reaction of the ingredients. They are able to record and time how long their toothpaste erupted, and create questions to understand what was happening.  Plus we had a lot of fun!

Dear Mrs.Finlinson

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

One of the most wonderful parts of Meadow Brook is our amazing secretaries. They are the face of our school. Mrs.Finlinson has been the first person many people see as they walk into our school. She is often the first smile of someone’s day. She was the person parents first came to when they needed help. She was who students went to when they needed ice or a band aid. She was who many teachers went to for friendship, motherly advice and someone to simply brighten your day. We are so excited for her as she is retiring.

2nd grade fun

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Ms. Oberg's class has been learning about Place Value in math recently. Our whiteboards are one of our best second grade tools! However, we like to take a minute before working on math to draw whatever we want so we are not tempted to do it later. Here is some of our beautiful artwork!

Adventures in fourth grade

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Here are some adventures from fourth grade.
Recess: There are so many things at recess. Like football, basketball, playground, wall ball, soccer, and baseball.

The Cup game

Get some friends and play this awesome game. Get 6 cups and rubber bands. Make a circle of one rubber band with six other rubber bands tied on to it.

Everyone takes one of the six rubber bands in their hand to pull the circle open. Use the circle to loop over the bottom of the cup. Use your team control to lift the cup into position. Repeat until you build a tower!

Shapes, shapes and more shapes! In math our class has been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We’ve used a variety of fun tools to explore shapes’ characteristics including play dough, pattern blocks, dice and a shape hunt!

Chalk the block

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

What an incredible turnout to our chalk the block event. Thank you to our amazing PTA for making this happen. It was phenomenal watching students, families, faculty, members of the community and our PTA come together to create master pieces expressing talent, hard work, and dedication. The night was filled with fun, laughter, delicious treats, and time with one of the best communities we could live in. We have so much admiration and gratitude towards our wonderful community. Thank you for being a true Mustang!
