Becoming a Butterfly

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

In Ms Thomas’s class we are learning all about living and non living things. We had the awesome opportunity for the past month watching a caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly! A big thank you to Mrs. Tew for bringing it in for us to watch! Last week while we were reading we saw it pushing its way out of its chrysalis right before our eyes! We couldn’t wait to see what it would look like. On Wednesday we released it outside into nature. What a fun experience watching this all unfold!!!

Landmarks

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

This week in First Grade we have been learning about our State and National landmarks.  The students were able to listen and watch videos about different landmarks and then create a "chatterpix" to teach each other about their landmark.  Then the students choose their favorite landmark and made a clay sculpture of it.  What a fun hands-on experience for all of us!

Finally Day for Mustang PTA Membership Drive

Submitted by heather.balli on

Mustang teachers and parents, we only have one more day for our Membership Drive. Let’s keep filling the wall in the lobby at the school with member gold medals. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, high school age siblings, friends and neighbors can all join to support our kids and school!

Don’t forget to hand in your gold membership drive forms (attached below), even if you don’t want to join. Make sure the teacher and students name is at least listed to be counted.

Kindergarten Writer's Workshop

Submitted by sarah.ledingham on

We have started Writer's Workshop in Kindergarten. Today the students wrote a story about what they like to do with their best friend. We are working on drawing pictures with details, labeling our pictures, and writing simple sentences using sight words. After we write, we always share our stories with our carpet buddies. We love writing!
