We want to invite you to join our Mustang March Madness Bracket. Brackets must be filled out BEFORE games start tomorrow (Thursday, March 16th). The "Meadow Brook Magic" pool is for staff, students, and the community.
In speech, we reference our sound wall a lot as students learn how to make different sounds. Each sound has a name and an action to help students remember it better. The speech teachers use the names and actions frequently to cue students, and students use them to cue themselves as well.
Fourth Graders are currently working on a project for a 1st-grade buddy. They have interviewed their buddy to find out some of their favorite things and then will complete a writing assignment to create a surprise to give to their new 1st-grade friend. It was fun to see the smiles on each face as they got to know each other!
First grade has loved doing Math Choice boards this year! We are now expanding to Reading Choice Boards! The students watch small instructional videos from Ms.
On Friday we had a presenter from Springville City come and teach the 4th grade all about Storm Drains. We learned that each of us is responsible for taking care of the water in the city so that is stays drinkable.
2nd grade is working on learning about landforms and water. Along with this, we are learning about quick and slow earth changes. Last week we learned about quick changes, like earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, and landslide. We are now focusing on slow changes due to weathering and erosion. To do this we used a hard cookie and slowly dropped water on the cookie. We observed the changes over time. This symbolizes weathering over hundreds, thousands, and even millions of years!
Second grade had so many fun ways to celebrate Dr Seuss’ birthday! One of their favorites was having a read-a-thon and getting to snuggle up with a good book!!
