Speed, Agility and team work in P.E

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

PE has been so much fun lately. We’ve been working on speed, agility, balance, team work and focusing on making exercise fun. My favorite thing to do with PE is to turn learning and working on a skill into a fun game so the kids don’t actually realize they’re working. I try to create games and activities that they can relate to, use their imaginations and enjoy the game. This last month we’ve played Mario Kart, sonic the hedgehog, a fun hula hoop rolling game, yoga and the ground is lava on the playground and for May the 4th we had a star wars dodgeball week that all the kids loved.

Clint's reptile room visits Meadow Brook

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Mr.Clint and his reptile friends joined us in the mustang corral today. Students got to learn about amazing reptiles and their habitats. Students even got to touch some of the reptiles. We learned about their traits and how to keep them safe. Students guessed which reptiles were snakes and lizards. Thank you Mr.Clint for helping us learn!

Thank you PTA

Meadow Brook has an incredible PTA. They surprise staff and students of Meadow Brook Elementary each time they host an event. They take the time to give students experiences that help them grow. We are so thankful for all they do for us and the incredible example of service they have. They hosted “Parents and Pastries” where students and families enjoyed a book and a donut. They “DoNot” disappoint. It was amazing seeing everyone reading and enjoying the beautiful day. Thank you PTA!

Computer adventures

Submitted by megan.oropeza on

Computers have been a ton of fun! First grade took a trip to Disneyland! It was exciting to see the characters and “ride” the attractions. In second grade we made an animated story on the computer. Did you know that movies were first called motion pictures? They have imaginations and skills! Third through fifth grades have been learning about finances by running a lemonade stand. Three students scored 90% or higher on the post test! They have worked hard and earned a game day!
