We have amazing sixth graders! We are so proud of the students who have been able to pass off levels of math fluency assessments and earn stars on their belt buckles this month. We are also proud of students who were presented with certificates for outstanding behaviors. Way to go sixth graders!
Second grade students have been learning all about being good citizens. What better way to participate in citizenship than by voting! After learning all about the right to vote, the second grade had their own election. Students voted on what Thanksgiving activity they would like to participate in, and they took that privilege very seriously. After the ballots were counted, the winner was announced. Popcorn and a Thanksgiving movie got 49 votes, and making mini pies got 51 votes. Wow! It was almost to close to call, but the pies won!
The students in Mrs. Reed's third grade class wrote book reports during the month of October. They summarized their story, decorated a pumpkin as the main character in their book, and presented in front of the class. They did an awesome job!
Congratulations to Mrs. Burningham, our school counselor, for receiving the PEAK Award that was presented to her last night at the district’s board meeting. She was nominated by Mrs. Robbins and Mr. Pitcher for everything she does at Meadow Brook and Taylor Elementary. She is compassionate, caring, hardworking, and always has a positive attitude. We are so lucky that she is ours!
Last Friday our student council had the opportunity to attend the BYU Leadership Conference held on campus. The students were able to mingle and talk with other student councils from all over Utah County. They also attended several classes on leadership throughout the day. It was a great day for these students.
Congratulations to our Students of the Month. These students are making great choices and working hard. They are: Kainoa, Maddie, Bizzie, Skylar, Blake, Shante, Camila, Hollis, Kadence, Zakiah, and Damien. Also, congratulations to all of those students who earned a bronze or silver buckle for amazing fast facts this month. Great job 2nd graders!!
Our 3rd Grade took a field trip and enjoyed a beautiful nature walk in Provo Canyon and a visit to the BYU Planetarium.
